A Brief History of Hacking Voting Machines

Harri Hursti is a Finnish computer programmer, and was the CEO of ROMcom, where he developed the world's smallest 2 GB traffic analysis product (acquired by F-secure Corporation). He has been a long-time researcher into the secirity of voting machines, discovering vulnerabilities most noably in the memory card, now known as the "Hursti Hack". Here is a public talk he gave at DefCon, describing the history of voting machines, their vulnerabilities, and why we need to return to a paper vote until the security of the election can be assured.
